Export Compliance

Wind River and our subsidiaries (“Wind River”) are committed to full compliance with all applicable export controls laws and regulations of the United States (“U.S.”), the European Union (“EU”), and all countries where Wind River conducts business. Compliance with applicable laws and regulations is mandated by the Wind River Code of Ethical Business Conduct and is managed as part of the Global Trade Compliance Program. Wind River is assuring, to its knowledge, compliance in following situations:

  1. Assurance, that obtained Items may not be used directly or indirectly, sold, re-exported or incorporated into products for the benefit of persons or entities named on any U.S., EU, or other applicable government restricted party list. Such lists include but are not limited to:
    1. The Entity List at Part 744 of the Export Administration Regulations and the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control Specially Designated National list;
    2. Sanctions issued under Article 29 of the Treaty on European Union and adopted under Article 215 by the Council of the European Union; and
    3. U.S. UK, and EU sanctions and export controls issued against the Russian Federation, Belarus, and certain areas of Ukraine
  2. Assurance, that obtained Items may not be exported or re-exported directly or indirectly, diverted or transshipped to or via any country in violation of any United Nations, EU, U.S., or any other applicable embargo, except as authorized under applicable laws and regulations;
  3. Understanding, that U.S. origin Items, and foreign manufactured products that incorporate U.S. origin content are subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations. In the event of re-export, Wind River understands and agrees to obtain all required permissions (e.g., export licenses, permits) from the U.S. government and any other applicable government;
  4. Understanding, that certain items, software, technology, and activities are regulated for export from the EU under Regulation (EU) 2021/821. Wind River understands and agrees to obtain all required permissions from the exporting EU member state, as applicable to the transaction;
  5. Assurance, that obtained items may not be used, sold, re-exported, or incorporated into products used directly or indirectly in the design, development, production, stockpiling, or use of chemical or biological weapons, nuclear programs, missiles, and maritime nuclear propulsion projects, except as authorized under applicable laws and regulations;
  6. Assurance, that obtained items may not be used, sold, re-exported, or incorporated into products for military end use or by military end users, except as authorized under applicable laws and regulations;
  7. Assurance, that if purchasing ITAR-controlled Items, Wind River understands and agrees to comply with 22 CFR 122, U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulation (“ITAR”). Wind River understands that any re-export of any ITAR controlled Items, or any re-export of an end-item that incorporates any ITAR controlled component, requires authorization from the U.S. Department of State.

Jay Bellissimo

President

Jay Bellissimo serves as the president of Wind River, overseeing all aspects of the company's global business as it drives the software-defined future in mission-critical industries. Previously, he was chief operating officer at Vonage, where he led global sales and operations, including the development and execution of the company's go-to-market strategy across its product portfolio.

With more than 35 years of experience in the software/technology industry, he joined Vonage from IBM, where he served as general manager of IBM U.S. Public and Federal Market. In this role, he was responsible for a multibillion-dollar portfolio spanning three industries: healthcare and life sciences, government and education, and defense and intelligence. He also held Top Secret clearance. He was a pioneer in the application of AI and established himself as a global expert across several industries and was the keynote presenter at numerous global AI conferences. He was also a member of IBM’s Performance Team, Client Experience Team, and Acceleration Team, which focus on the company’s short- and long-term growth strategies.

He held multiple additional executive roles during his tenure at IBM, including those of global general manager, Cognitive Process Transformation, IBM Global Services; general manager and chief revenue officer of the Watson & Cloud Platform; leader of IBM’s Global SAP Consulting Business and Global Business Services in the Aerospace & Defense and communications sectors, including the media and entertainment, telco, and energy/utilities industries; and leader of IBM’s Global Business Services business for Latin America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior to IBM, he held numerous industry management and practice leadership positions at PwC in Chemicals & Petroleum, Industrial Products, and Aerospace & Defense.

He holds a B.A. in political science from St. Michael’s College and serves on the Board of Trustees. Previously, he served on the Advisory Board of the Center of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Claremont McKenna College.

Avijit Sinha

Senior Vice President, Strategy and Global Business Development

Avijit Sinha is the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Global Business Development at Wind River, responsible for shaping the company’s strategic direction and long-term vision. Previously, he served as President of Wind River, overseeing the company’s global business. Before that, he was the Chief Product Officer, where he led product strategy, product management, commercial partnerships, and industry solutions.

He joined Wind River from Microsoft where he most recently served as General Manager for Azure Mobility enabling the digital transformation of automotive OEMs towards building connected and autonomous driving vehicles. Prior to that he was Senior Director of Corporate Business Development for IoT and Intelligent Edge. His team was responsible for strategy, partnerships, investments and acquisitions in Intelligent Edge, IoT, automotive, manufacturing, energy, smart buildings & cities, and autonomous systems (vehicles, robotics and drones).

Over his 20+ year Microsoft career, he served in a range of leadership roles responsible for product development in Azure, Office, Windows, and Microsoft Research across personal, mobile and cloud computing. He holds several patents for productivity and platform software.

He has a Bachelor's degree from Indian Institute of Technology - Madras, Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from Seattle University.

Sean Lamb

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer at Wind River, Sean Lamb oversees the company’s global financial strategy. He brings to Wind River nearly three decades of extensive financial experience in small and large private and public companies, offering deep expertise in M&A, cash management, equity/debt financing, revenue recognition, and new product analysis.

Prior to joining Wind River, he was CFO at two direct to consumer market leaders, Willow Innovations and Ruggable. At Willow, he focused on raising a Series D while also working with lenders to restructure the company's balance sheet. At Ruggable, he was focused on getting the Finance and Accounting organizations ready for a future IPO while assisting other parts of the organization on what processes need to be in place to succeed as a publicly traded entity. Prior to Ruggable, he spent 14 years at Dolby Laboratories, where he served as Vice President of Finance, leading Investor Relations, Corporate Finance and Business Support. During his time at Dolby, he worked on acquisitions, operational roll-outs of new initiatives, enhancing reporting and visibility into the business, and he also managed the company’s international Accounting and Finance shared service centers. He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.

Paul Miller, Jr.

Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer at Wind River, Paul Miller is responsible for the company’s technology strategy. With nearly three decades of telecommunications and advanced technology leadership at both large companies and successful startups, he is currently focused on Wind River’s edge virtualization and AI solutions, including Wind River’s market-leading 5G Cloud offering based on StarlingX.

Prior to joining Wind River, he was the Chief Technology Officer of GENBAND. He has led the architecture and development of various switching, IMS, IP media, call control and web applications solutions employed by multiple tier-one operators worldwide. His last eight years have been focused on OpenStack, SDN, and NFV automation technology, and include operation of a multi-site, multi-cloud infrastructure, multiple Tier one CSP VNF deployments as well as a significant NFV patent history. His contributions throughout his career have enabled many communications service providers worldwide to create new revenue streams, while dramatically reducing operating costs.

Sandeep Modhvadia

Chief Product Officer

As Wind River Chief Product Officer, Sandeep Modhvadia is responsible for driving product strategy and product management, playing a critical role in Wind River’s leadership advancing the software-defined future of mission-critical systems.

He has over two decades of technology and product management experience. Most recently at Acuity Brands, he led product management for its cloud software business as part of the Intelligent Space Group, focused on sustainability, automation, and optimization of buildings. Before Acuity, he founded and led the product and solutions team for the Google Cloud Automotive and Manufacturing group launching its platforms for connected vehicles and connected factories. Prior to Google, he held multiple product, sales, and marketing leadership positions at Microsoft.

He holds a BSc degree in computer science from University College London.

Amit Ronen

Chief Customer Officer

Amit Ronen is responsible for managing customer-facing engineering groups across the globe, including field engineering, engineering specialists, professional services, and customer support organizations.

Before joining Wind River, he was the founder and CEO of Presales Solutions, a company that offered a unique on-demand hosted solution in the customer relationship management (CRM) space. Prior to Presales Solutions, he spent more than 10 years with Mercury Interactive, where he gained extensive executive and global field management experience. There he managed and built the presales organization in the Americas, expanding it from 40 people to more than 150 people and supporting revenue generation of more than half a billion dollars. In addition, he served as vice president of professional services for the Americas and vice president of Mercury’s Tuning business, a startup within the company. He was also a founding member of Mercury Interactive Japan KK and was responsible for all technical field operations in the Japan and Korea region.

He holds a B.A. in computer science and economics from Tel Aviv University in Israel and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) of Stanford University in California.

Viral Mehta

Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Engineering

Viral Mehta is responsible for the execution and delivery of innovative products for the intelligent edge that are advancing the software-defined future across the mission-critical industries the company serves, including aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial, medical, and telecommunications.

Over his 20+ year career in the industry, he has helped launch cloud cybersecurity and collaboration products at global organizations such as AWS, NortonLifeLock, and Symantec. He joined Wind River from 1910 Genetics, where he most recently served as senior vice president, Software Engineering, responsible for strategy, planning, and execution for delivering market-leading products, including spearheading the creation of an advanced AI/ML-driven biotech platform. Prior to that, he served as a general manager at AWS, overseeing a cross-functional team encompassing engineering, user experience, and product management, where he developed and drove the strategy, products, and operations for Amazon Chime. Before AWS, he was the VP of engineering at NortonLifeLock, managing the full development life cycle of Norton’s $2B security product suite. He also spent more than a decade at Symantec, driving the Symantec and Norton engineering teams in developing enterprise and consumer software.

He has an M.S. in computer science from the University of Southern California.

Darrell Jordan-Smith

Chief Revenue Officer

Darrell Jordan-Smith is Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for the leadership of the global sales team and go-to-market strategy at Wind River.

He brings nearly three decades of sales leadership experience in the IT, financial, telecom, and media market sectors with Fortune 100 and mid-size businesses. He joined Wind River from Red Hat, where he has spent the last ten years, most recently serving as Sr. Vice President, Industries & Edge. Under his leadership, Red Hat has achieved a CAGR revenue growth of 22%. Prior to Red Hat, he held a series of sales leadership roles at technology companies, including Consulting, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Lucent Technologies.

He holds a BSc degree in computer science from University of Glasgow and an M.B.A. from University of Strathclyde.

Jessica Miller

Vice President, Global Corporate Communications

Jessica Miller is Vice President of global Corporate Communications at Wind River. In this role, she leads the strategy and management of the company’s communications activities and serves as senior communications counsel to the Wind River executive team.

As the company’s communications leader and corporate storyteller, she is responsible for crafting and executing Wind River’s comprehensive communications strategy, encompassing media relations, analyst relations, social media, executive communications, and internal communications.

She has nearly 20 years of communications experience with leading global organizations across multiple industries. Prior to joining Wind River, she led corporate communications at Advent Software. Before that, she held communications and marketing roles at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Thomas Weisel Partners LLC. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis in communications and political science.

Melissa Jacob

Vice President, Operations and Chief of Staff

Melissa Jacob is responsible for implementing operational excellence in execution and streamlining strategic initiatives to ensure that our business goals are met. She also oversees program management for the office of the president. She will play a critical role in ensuring that Wind River day-to-day operations across functions are aligned with the overall strategic direction of the company.

Melissa has extensive experience in strategy, transformation, business, and operations. She was previously at Aptiv, where she served as Vice President, Critical Initiative Delivery, establishing the Critical Infrastructure Delivery team. Prior to Aptiv, Melissa led the global product management organization for the Aerospace, Defense and Marine Connectors business at TE Connectivity, served as Business Leader for Aircraft Data Management at UTC Aerospace Systems, and Director of Strategy and Product Management at L3 Aviation Products. She is also a decorated Navy Veteran, having served on active duty as a Surface Warfare Officer in various capacities, including Navigator, Gunnery Officer and Chief Engineer, as well as a Company Officer at the French Naval Academy.

She has an MBA from INSEAD in France, a Master of Science degree in Financial Economics from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
