AMX Standardizes Modero Touch Panels on Wind River Linux
"Choosing Wind River Linux has enabled our engineers to spend more time developing the unique features that have always made our Modero Touch Panels such a customer favorite," said Rick Gelling, Director of Firmware Engineering at AMX. "Having successfully standardized a different AMX product on Wind River's VxWorks platform, we knew that Wind River's Linux platform would also be a great choice for our touch panels."

In addition to selecting a Linux distribution, it was important for AMX to identify a debugging solution that was complete, comprehensive and improved the overall efficiency of its development teams. After careful consideration, AMX chose Wind River Workbench, On-Chip Debugging Edition to support AMX's goals to get to market fast, improve product quality by locating problems early in the development cycle and reduce costs by using the JTAG interface and the industry-standard Eclipse platform. The ability to move seamlessly from hardware bring-up and debugging with a JTAG interface to deep software analysis is one reason AMX chose the Wind River solution. Gelling's team relies upon Wind River's complete development and debug product suite, including Wind River ScopeTools for device software analysis.
