Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2
FIPS 140-2 is the published standard for secure cryptography. It addresses how cryptography is implemented (intrinsics) and how it serves applications (operations). Wind River VxWorks platforms provide support for FIPS 140-2 by using OpenSSL's FIPS 140-2 certified module and interoperating with it.

Common Criteria–certified versions of Wind River Linux use the Network Security Services library from Mozilla for intrinsics. It serves applications via the Wind River Cryptography Framework, which keeps data between applications private. Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE)
Wind River fully supports the global standardization efforts of over 30 military avionics suppliers to create open platforms for rapid integration of a wide source of legacy and new applications on critical avionics systems. FACE™ is managed by The Open Group.
A founding member of the FACE Consortium, Wind River currently delivers safe and secure platforms that will support the FACE Reference Architecture's General Purpose, Safety, and Security operating system profiles.
General Purpose: Wind River Linux products will support the FACE General Purpose Profile. With full compliance to POSIX 1003.1-2008, Wind River Linux will fully comply with the FACE General Purpose Profile that enables support for a wide range of applications on a standard-based foundation.
Safety: For applications with strict safety and/or ARINC 653 time and space partitioning requirements, Wind River VxWorks 653 Platform will be the platform of choice to meet the FACE Safety Profile. With over 140 customers using VxWorks 653 on over 320 programs on nearly 70 aircraft, VxWorks 653 is the market-leading ARINC 653 platform solution, and will enable a wide range of commercial and military applications to be deployed on FACE platforms.

Linux Standard Base (LSB) 4.0
LSB is a set of standards for Linux distributions and applications aimed at providing cross-platform compatibility between LSB-compliant Linux distributions and applications. It is supported on x86, PowerPC, and MIPS architectures. For human-machine interface (HMI) and graphical user interface (GUI) requirements, VxWorks supports OpenGL ES for all 2D and 3D graphics requirements. OpenGL ES is a subset of the full desktop OpenGL, designed specifically to suit the requirements of resource-constrained embedded devices.
