eLxr Pro 12.10.2 Release Overview (25.09 Release)

eLxr Pro™, the Wind River commercial-support enterprise-grade Linux, provides reliable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that address the unique challenges of edge computing. Based on the eLxr project, an open source Debian-derived Linux distribution, eLxr Pro expands access to enterprise and cloud-native environments and seamlessly connects edge devices.
The latest release, with general availability in September 2025, is upgraded to the latest Debian 12.10.2 release. eLxr Pro provides a trusted Linux foundation that serves mission-critical and data-intensive workloads across edge and cloud deploy ments. Designed for both edge and server environments, eLxr Pro is enterprise ready. It ensures that customers have the necessary tools for predictability, scalability, security, and long-term stability for critical workloads.
AN IMPROVED USER EXPERIENCE IMPROVES ONBOARDING
Changes to the activation and entitlement user interface (UI) and distro-to-order tooling (the process of creating custom Linux-based systems for a specific purpose) lower the barrier to entry for enterprises. It is easier to get started and to tailor deployments. A major part of this is a new seamless command-line activation: sudo apt install elxr-pro. This is a critical change, as it eliminates manual downloads and eases onboarding tasks.
A new dedicated page on the eLxr Pro portal gives customers a real-time list of all connected machines for each of their subscriptions. That boosts visibility, serves as a foundational step toward enterprise-grade fleet management, and positions eLxr Pro as more approachable than traditional enterprise Linux distros, which often require heavy professional services or manual customization. Organizations are able to adopt faster and with less friction than other distros.
A NEW FORUM FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We launched forums.elxr.org as a community resource for developers, admins, and anyone else who uses the operating system. This reflects our commitment to open engagement and transparency, a key differentiator against closed ecosystems. The forum serves as a hub for knowledge-sharing, problem-solving, partner collaboration, and user-driven innovation.
