Wind River Professional Services can assist with any and all phases of the migration to eLxr Pro.
Interview Key Stakeholders
Wind River consultants meet with the customer’s experts to capture the intended use of the system and review current configuration notes. They examine any technical debt, such as custom patches and packages.
Inventory the Platform to Be Migrated
The Wind River eLxr Pro team interrogates the platform on its configuration, including (but not limited to) installed packages, applications and system management software used, platform-specific configurations, file system layout, container setups, network configurations, and preferred hardware vendors. Wind River experts then verify that the results match the expectations of key stakeholders and alert them to any misalignments.
Review eLxr Packages vs. Inventory
Consultants cross-reference available eLxr packages with the results of the host inventory, identify any alternative package sources, and recommend a set of package additions to key stakeholders.
Deploy eLxr Pro
Wind River ensures that the new system matches the configuration of the old system as documented during the inventory phase. Existing applications should run without modification on the new configuration, with equivalent or better performance.
Install Cloud Services
If a dependency on cloud services is identified during the interviews or inventory, consultants deploy the appropriate SDK and agents and set up any firewall rules or port mapping required by the cloud service’s SDKs or agents.
Ensure Post-Deployment Success
Following deployment, Wind River Professional Services experts provide three categories of services to ensure success:
- Testing of the new eLxr system, preferably on a staging system that mirrors the production system
- Documentation and training, including documentation of the install configuration (as built), updating the internal customer documentation, and offering additional training from Wind River Education Services
- Optimization and monitoring of the new deployment, and deployment of additional optimizations and adjustments as needed
