AUSTIN, Texas and ALAMEDA, Calif. — June 22, 2011 — Freescale Semiconductor and Wind River have signed an agreement that reinforces the companies' longstanding collaboration and provides advanced software solutions for QorIQ and PowerQUICC customers across Wind River's industry-leading embedded operating systems. The agreement broadens availability and improves time-to-market for developer solutions engineered to optimize the performance, ease-of-use and energy efficiency of Freescale's product families targeting networking, aerospace/defense, and other key markets.

As embedded multicore processors grow increasingly complex, operating systems and tools must be "silicon-aware" and capable of fully leveraging the advantages of highly sophisticated SoC designs. Enhanced collaboration between Freescale and Wind River is intended to address this need for the ultimate benefit of QorIQ and PowerQUICC users.
