Wind River Signs Global Technology Agreement with Bosch Rexroth

  • Bosch Rexroth standardizes on Wind River General Purpose Platform for its device software development

ALAMEDA, Calif.--May 4, 2004--Wind River, the global leader in device software optimization (DSO), today announced that Bosch Rexroth AG selected Wind River's VxWorks General Purpose Platform as the technology standard for its motion control devices. Bosch Rexroth purchased the General Purpose Platform as part of Wind River's enterprise-licensing model. Under the enterprise licensing agreement, the company will receive regular upgrades to the device software Platform, ensuring Bosch Rexroth continually has the most current technology available for its customers and their products.

Rexroth IndraLogic and Rexroth IndraMotion are Bosch Rexroth's two new families of automation systems that provide easier, more open and flexible motion control devices in the industries Bosch Rexroth serves such as industrial automation, electronic assembly, material handling and automotive body and assembly. By using Wind River's VxWorks General Purpose Platform, which includes Wind River's integrated development tools and professional services, Bosch Rexroth is able to ensure the reliability of its products and greatly accelerate its time to market.
