Wind River and Celunite Partner to Deliver Advanced Platform for Linux Mobile Handsets

MADRID, OSiM 2007, BOOTHS #9 and #10 – September 18, 2007 – Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), and Celunite, developer of a next-generation mobile Linux software platform, today announced a partnership to develop an advanced mobile phone platform. By integrating the Celunite mobile Linux platform, mobile applications suite and development tools with Wind River's Linux kernel and development tools, the companies will significantly reduce development costs and shorten delivery schedules for the entire mobile phone industry – chipset manufacturers, OEMs, integrators and operators.

Wind River and Celunite are both core members of the LiMo Foundation, founded by Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics and Vodafone to develop the world’s first globally competitive, Linux-based software platform for mobile devices. The LiMo Foundation aims to provide key benefits for the mobile industry including lower development costs, increased flexibility and a richer mobile ecosystem – all of which contribute to the group's ultimate objective of creating compelling, differentiated and enhanced consumer experiences.

"Creating a world-class mobile Linux development environment that tightly incorporates commercial Linux with a next-generation mobile phone platform is valuable to both the LiMo Foundation's members and the larger mobile development community," said John Bruggeman, Chief Marketing Officer at Wind River. "Celunite is an ideal partner for Wind River, and our alliance marks a very critical first step to realizing the vision set forth by the Foundation."
