Wind River Welcomes James W. Bagley to Board of Directors

ALAMEDA, Calif., June 7, 2001 - Wind River Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:WIND), a leading provider of software and services for connected smart devices, today announced that James W. Bagley, the chairman and chief executive officer of Lam Research Corporation, was elected to the company's Board of Directors. Bagley, a 35-year veteran in the semiconductor industry, will join the six other members of the Wind River board.

Extensive Industry Experience
James W. Bagley is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Lam Research Corporation (www.lamrc.com), a leading global supplier of silicon wafer processing systems used to manufacture semiconductor integrated circuits. Mr. Bagley became chief executive officer of Lam in August of 1997 upon the completion of the merger of Lam and OnTrak Systems, Inc. where he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Bagley earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University. He spent 15 years each at Texas Instruments and Applied Materials. Mr. Bagley also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Teradyne and Micron Technology, Inc.
