Wind River Delivers Early Software, Development Tool Support for New Intel XScale Processors
As wireless networks throughout the world continue to advance, services for high-speed, two-way data with multimedia capabilities are quickly emerging. Well suited for the development of wireless applications that combine data and voice services, Wind River's development platform for the Intel PXA250 Applications Processor provides embedded software, development tools and advanced connectivity software addressing every step of the embedded development lifecycle from early hardware bring-up to software development, test and debug phases all the way through to manufacturing test and remote device management. Manufacturers developing next-generation mobile cellular handsets, PDAs, Internet access devices and automotive clients powered by these new processors can immediately leverage the same reliability, performance and support that has made Wind River the leading worldwide embedded software provider.

- Complete development platform providing Tornado II software debugger and VxWorks RTOS for Intel PXA250 processors.
- visionPROBE II, visionICE II, visionCLICK, visionXD and visionWARE
- Hardware-assisted debugging solutions including real-time target control, source-level debugging, high speed downloads to the target, flash programming and built-in hardware diagnostics.
- Hardware reference board
A solid platform for both hardware and software engineers to use in prototyping Intel PXA250 processor-based designs and a live target for developing and testing code. The board will be available with a Wind River-validated VxWorks board support package as well as standalone visionBOOT boot loader and board diagnostics.
