  • Wind River is providing its developers with worldwide conferences and a centralized, online resource for technical information, online chats and other technical resources plus much more.
  • Developers can register for the Wind River Developer Network this week at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco or online at developer.windriver.com.

Embedded Systems Conference (Booth 718), San Francisco, Calif.--April 22, 2003--Wind River Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: WIND), the worldwide market leader in embedded software and services, today announced the introduction of the Wind River Developer Network, a community designed to offer a myriad of educational resources, worldwide conferences and tools specifically for developers of embedded systems. The Wind River Developer Network aggregates Wind River's twenty years of embedded development expertise to provide the developer community with an organized resource for the best and most reliable information and technology in embedded development.

In addition to illustrating Wind River's commitment to the embedded development community through a formal Network, Wind River will sponsor developer conferences around the world during the Fall time-frame. These conferences provide a forum where embedded developers and technical decision makers can come together to learn about Wind River's corporate and product strategy, partnerships as well as key technology and business trends. In addition, keynote speakers will address industry issues and developers can participate in technical workshops.

"With the introduction of the Wind River Developer Network, we are bolstering our commitment to the developer community by providing the tools and resources they need to be successful," said Jerry Fiddler, founder and chairman of Wind River Systems. "Wind River's Web site has long been considered a resource for developers, and it regularly logs two to four times the number of page views per month than the leading embedded development online news sites. Therefore, we wanted to increase our value even further with a formal Developer Network program."

Developers will have the opportunity to sign up for the Wind River Developer Network during the Embedded Systems Conference. Embedded developers will also be provided the opportunity to see first hand the resources that will be available through this Network. By joining the Wind River Developer Network, embedded developers will have access to:

  • Worldwide developer conferences

  • White papers and technical articles

  • Evaluation software

  • Online technical chats with other developers

  • Technical Web casts presented by experts

  • Technical presentations

  • User groups

  • Feedback forum

  • Graduate and embedded developer resume database

Wind River customers will also have exclusive access to:

  • Board support package resources

  • Architecture previews

  • "Sneak peak" product roadmap reviews

  • Online support

  • Training

Wind River executives and technical staff will be at Embedded Systems Conference to speak with attendees about Wind River technology, WIND RIVER PLATFORMS, services, customer education and more. Specifically, Wind River's Founder, Jerry Fiddler, will be at Wind River's booth# 718 on Wednesday, April 23 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. to address embedded industry or Wind River questions.
