Motorola's DCT2500 Core Interactive Digital Set-Tops Deployed with Wind River Software

ALAMEDA, Calif.--Dec. 2, 2003--Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND), a worldwide market leader in embedded software and services announced its technology is being deployed in Motorola's DCT2500 core interactive digital set-tops. WIND RIVER PLATFORM technologies include VxWorks(R) embedded real-time operating system (RTOS), embedded Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity and the Tornado(R) integrated development environment. The DCT2500 is an enhanced version of the DCT2000--the world's most widely deployed digital cable set-top. Enhancements in the DCT2500 include a faster processor and more memory enabling it to run more robust interactive applications more efficiently.

The Motorola DCT2500 digital set-top offers industry-leading functionality for cable operators as well as end-users, including easy-to-use advanced program guides and improved graphical user interfaces. Support for multiple interactive television applications tied to programming such as sports, news, and game shows is now also possible through the incorporation of enhanced TV middleware features.
