Wind River Names Barry Mainz Vice President of Worldwide Customer Operations

  • New executive hire will focus on customer support and relationship management
  • Mainz's prior experience includes executive sales leadership positions at Mercury Interactive and Sun Microsystems

ALAMEDA, CA. – June 27, 2005 – Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), today announced that Barry Mainz has been named Vice President of Worldwide Customer Operations. Mainz brings to Wind River more than 15 years of sales, alliances and customer service experience, as well as deep expertise in reinventing business support models and customer relationships. In his new role, Mainz will manage customer support, field technical engineering and corporate sales at Wind River.

As Vice President of Worldwide Customer Operations, Mainz will report to Bob Wheaton and will focus primarily on creating and building customer relationships for Wind River. His industry knowledge will be instrumental in growing the company’s customer base, as well as better serving existing customers across all vertical markets as they strive to optimize their device software.

Prior to joining Wind River, Mainz served as Worldwide Vice President, Corporate Sales Division & Customer Support Organization at Mercury Interactive Corp., where he led a team of 410 and was responsible for generating annual revenue of more than $275 million. Mainz has also held various sales leadership positions as Sun Microsystems, NetLabs, which was acquired by Seagate Technology, and Weitek Corporation. Mainz holds a B.S. in business and computer science from San Francisco State University.
