Wind River and Wipro Technologies Announce Strategic Alliance to Provide Best-in-Class Device Software Technology and Services

  • Wind River and Wipro aligning DSO products and services to provide customers with latest device technology and continuous IT and design support

ALAMEDA, Calif. and BANGALORE, India — May 23, 2005 — Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), and Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), today announced a strategic partnership that will more closely align Wind River's leading DSO products and device design services with Wipro's product engineering services portfolio. Joint customers of Wind River and Wipro will now have access to a larger team of development engineers trained on the latest Wind River DSO product lines, thereby enabling them to develop and run device software faster, better, at a lower cost and more reliably. This strategic partnership furthers the long standing bi-lateral customer relationship between the two companies which began in 1998.

Wind River has provided world-class device design services for more than 20 years, and this partnership will enable our customers to take advantage of a global services capability that spans Wind River's design services focused primarily on operating system, middleware and hardware development to Wipro's services focused on device software application and turnkey reference design development.

Wind River and Wipro's joint customers will benefit from the tighter alignment between Wipro's industry-leading design services and Wind River's industry-leading DSO technology solutions.
