Wind River Appoints President of Wind River Japan

ALAMEDA, Calif., May 21, 2001 - Wind River Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:WIND), a leading provider of software and services for connected smart devices, today announced the appointment of Michikazu Fujiyoshi as president of Wind River Japan. Fujiyoshi will serve on Wind River's executive staff and be responsible for field operations, including all sales and service activities in Japan. As the new president of Wind River Japan offices, Fujiyoshi will also be responsible for developing the organization that will take Wind River to the next level of business success in Japan.

Wind River's Japanese operations continued to perform well in the Q1 FY02, and the company believes Japan represents a market with significant growth opportunities.

Fujiyoshi joins Wind River after 19 years with Intel Japan. Most recently, he was the regional sales manager for Intel's Internet & On-Line Services Division. He was responsible for successfully launching this new division, including its Data Center and Data Hosting offerings. Previously, Fujiyoshi was general manager of Intel's Networking and Reseller Channel business group. He was also regional sales manager of Intel's microprocessor sales group. Under his direction, this multi-billion-dollar group grew revenue by 100% in two years. He began his career in 1974 at Burroughs Japan as a field engineer. Fujiyoshi holds a B.S. in science and engineering from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto.
