Orlando, FL. – May 16, 2006 –Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), will open its largest-ever user conference today in Orlando with over 600 customers and partners expected to attend. The Wind River User Conference, which runs for three days, will feature general session keynote addresses by Ken Klein, Wind River chairman, chief executive officer and president, Steven D. Levitt, bestselling author of "Freakonomics" and Phil Gordon, co-host of Bravo's "Celebrity Poker Showdown." The event will also feature more than 135 technical and business track sessions and workshops presented by Wind River experts, partners and customers.

Wind River will kick-off this three day event with free training classes on device software development for both the company's Linux and Wind River VxWorks device software platforms. These educational sessions will offer conference attendees the opportunity to participate in 2, two-hour classes that will cover a Wind River Linux and VxWorks overview on project management, debugging, and analyzing. Following the classes, two additional optional segments will be offered on real-time processes, error detection and reporting for VxWorks, as well as an introduction to Wind River’s general purpose Linux platform.

In addition, representatives from Wind River's engineering team will be available at the event's "Hands-On Lab" to provide conference attendees with deep-dive demonstrations of products and solutions.
