Wind River to Showcase Portfolio of Secure Communications Solutions at MILCOM 2014

ALAMEDA, Calif. – Sept. 30, 2014 – Wind River®, a world leader in delivering software for intelligent connected systems, will exhibit at MILCOM 2014, Oct. 6–8 in Baltimore, MD. Wind River will offer a range of demonstrations featuring its portfolio of software solutions for secure military communications, including technology focused on critical infrastructure security, virtualization, and system simulation.

"Today's networks are challenged to provide more capability using commercial off-the-shelf systems, which requires the implementation of global communications standards on powerful multi-core platforms," said Chip Downing, senior director of aerospace and defense at Wind River. "It is essential that systems have built-in security, with the ability to monitor, control, and counterattack threats, while at the same time providing high-bandwidth links to support situational awareness. MILCOM is an ideal forum to discuss these topics, and to showcase Wind River’s portfolio of secure communications solutions."

Demonstrations and highlighted technologies at the Wind River booth, no. 643, will include:

  • Network Functions Virtualization for Critical Communications Infrastructure: This demonstration highlights the Wind River carrier grade software solution designed for NFV deployments that demand secure, reliable, and high performance communications.

  • Critical Infrastructure Platform Security: This demonstration shows how combined solutions from Intel®, McAfee, and Wind River provide embedded-to-enterprise security for critical infrastructure.

  • Multilevel and Cross-Domain Security: This VxWorks® MILS Platform demonstration highlights how its multi-core architecture can be used as the foundation of multilevel and cross-domain security devices responding to threats while maintaining expected system functionality.

  • Security Capability Testing, Certification, and Simulation: This demonstration shows how vulnerability assessments can be accomplished with Wind River Simics® for multiple processor architectures.
