V4G4b Dual/Quad PowerPC 7410 (G4) Computing Node (120)
Dual or Quad Motorola-Based PPC7410 (G4) at 450MHz With AltiVec Vector Processing Unit
Product Highlights
Up to 512MB totally shared SDRAM for real-time data access with very low latency Two PCI/PMC slots with IBM CPC710 crossbar PowerLine toolkit for platform management Convection- and conduction-cooled versions available Perfect for high-end data and signal processing applications
Product Description
The new V4G4b uses the Motorola-based PowerPC 7410 (G4) chip. With its AltiVec vector processing unit, the PPC7410 (G4) expands the capabilities of PowerPC microprocessors to include leading-edge vector processing, high-bandwidth data processing, and algorithmic-intensive computation for high-end signal processing and leading-edge computing applications such as sonar, radar, medical imaging, and machine vision systems.
The V4G4b is available today in both conduction- and convection-cooled versions. It features four G4 PowerPC processors arranged in a massively shared memory architecture to facilitate the use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components. Up to 512MB of totally shared SDRAM allows the four G4 processors access to data in real time, with very low latency.
The V4G4b provides multi-CPU support, including two PCI/PMC slots with an IBM CPC710 crossbar that accelerates signal processing algorithms, 128 to 512MB SDRAM, 64KB L1 cache and 2MB L2 cache per processor, PowerLine4 toolkit for platform management functions and external I/O support.
