The Hitachi Embedded Business Group delivers the only lightweight data manager that is application-optimized for consumer and industrial devices. Entier packs high-performance SQL search of local content, incremental text search and spatial search technology all into a package that occupies about half a Megabyte of RAM at run time. In each of its top tier markets, Hitachi intends Entier to become the default data manager. These markets are Smart Phones, Set Top Boxes and Navigation Systems.For Smart Phones, Entier provides the foundation for guided text search and on-device navigation queries, as well as the delivery of location-based services.
For Set Top Boxes, in both the video and audio markets, Entier provides both guided text search of the Electronic Program Guide and all meta-data, and conceptual search for content based on a multi-dimensional ranking.
The Entier efficient spatial search makes it a natural choice for navigation systems, and other location-aware devices. In these applications, Entier provides the ability to search within a circle or polygon, or along a route, and to find the distance between points of complex geometric figures.
