Wind River Showcases Android on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Platform

ALAMEDA, CA – January 8, 2009 – Wind River (NASDAQ: WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), today announced that the company developed software code that will help enable support for open source Android mobile software running on larger screen-sized mobile computing devices using Snapdragon™ chipsets from Qualcomm Incorporated. The combination of Wind River and Qualcomm technology will help create opportunities for mobile manufacturers to more quickly bring to market a wide range of Android-based WVGA devices. The software code will be contributed by Wind River to the Open Handset Alliance (OHA) repository in the near future.

Wind River and Qualcomm will be providing technology demonstrations of Android mobile software running at WVGA resolution on Snapdragon mobile computing chipsets at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2009.
