Wind River Announces Support for RMI Corporation's Multi-core Multi-threaded XLR Processors with Wind River's Carrier Grade Linux and VxWorks SMP Platforms

(NASDAQ: WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), today announced it has extended support for RMI Corporation's multi-core multi-threaded XLRProcessor™ Family with its Carrier Grade runtime platforms, Wind River Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition 2.0 and SMP-ready VxWorks 6.6. This additional support will enable RMI's enterprise and network infrastructure customers:

• To deliver higher performance, multicore-powered products with reduced risk and development investment
• To speed time-to-market by using commercially available and supported run-time platforms and developer tools with support for multiprocessing
• To increase productivity by using the same development process and environment as for uniprocessor development, leveraging SMP extensions to existing development tools
• To adopt a flexible design approach using Wind River's expertise and broad technology support for multiprocessing
