Support enables RMI’s Enterprise and Network Infrastructure customers
CORRECTION NOTICE: The following copy of the press release includes certain corrections to the originally issued press release. The corrections clarify that Wind River On-Chip Debugging does not currently support RMI¹s XLR and XLS processor product lines, and that Wind River Workbench offers development, integration and support for the XLR product line only.
Alameda, CA, April 29, 2008 – Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), today announced it has extended support for RMI Corporation's multi-core multi-threaded XLRProcessor™ Family with its Carrier Grade runtime platforms, Wind River Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition 2.0 and SMP-ready VxWorks 6.6. This additional support will enable RMI's enterprise and network infrastructure customers:
- To deliver higher performance, multicore-powered products with reduced risk and development investment
- To speed time-to-market by using commercially available and supported run-time platforms and developer tools with support for multiprocessing
- To increase productivity by using the same development process and environment as for uniprocessor development, leveraging SMP extensions to existing development tools
- To adopt a flexible design approach using Wind River's expertise and broad technology support for multiprocessing
"The Wind River and RMI partnership provides mutual customers the flexibility and assurance they need to build market-specific networking and security applications," said Glenn Seiler, director of networking solutions, Wind River.
