The SE2.16 is a highly flexible, broadband processing systems platform for high availability telecommunications applications. As part of SBS' Cascade High Availability Systems product line, SE2.16 is designed for high-performance, high-bandwidth applications requiring packet switching-based systems.
The Cascade line of high availability platforms is designed to give system designers the simplest, most efficient and reliable foundation upon which to build their applications. Conforming to PICMG 2.16 standards, SE2.16 is a module design with a switched Ethernet backplane and a wide range of SBS application blades that are available both independently and with the system configuration. As part of the standard HA platform, Cascade SE2.16 includes a fabric switch (FS2.16), system controller (RSS14), and 12 routing blades (I/O2.16).
Ideal for high-performance telecommunications applications, including carrier-class gateways, wireless base stations, enterprise routers, switches, and broadband remote access services, the Cascade SE2.16 has 20 slots, 12 of which can be configured for any application, with two nonblocking fabric switch blades and two system controllers for enhanced system management. The chassis has a high availability configuration with N+1 redundant power supplies, as well as fabric and controller modules.
