Provides Security for RapidControl Web and CLI Interfaces

Iconfidant(TM) for RapidControl for Web: Wind River's RapidControl for Web normally provides remote access via a standard Web server. The Web server sends all data (including user names and passwords) unencrypted, allowing network sniffers to easily capture and compromise this information. Iconfidant replaces the Web server in RapidControl for Web, which communicates over SSL. This allows network equipment providers utilizing RapidControl for Web and RapidControl for Applets to easily add secure, encrypted access to their devices.



Iconfidant for RapidControl for CLI: RapidControl for CLI (command line interface) normally provides remote access via the standard telnet interface. Telnet sends all data (including user names and passwords) in clear text, allowing network sniffers to easily capture and compromise this information. Iconfidant enhances the telnet server built-in to RapidControl for CLI with a secure shell interface that encrypts and compresses all data on the connection, including the RapidControl login, using the standard secure shell protocol. This allows network equipment providers utilizing RapidControl for CLI to easily add secure, encrypted access to their devices.
