Tsi205  (2401)
Primary Side Monitor with PI-Link Interface

Product Highlights

Self-powered from primary card input voltage Highly accurate shutdown based on primary side under voltage, with built in hysteresis 10-bit ADC conversion and transmission of primary side voltage 8-bit ADC conversion of primary side current Additional general purpose primary side ADC monitoring input can be used for fan speed monitoring or other purposes Monitoring of all four fuses (high-side and low-side fuses for both A and B feeds) Status data transmitted via PI Link (fuse failure, overcurrent, brownout) can be configured to set the state of digital GPIO pins on secondary side Tsi25x series devices Shutdown of primary DC DC converter based on primary voltage faults Shutdown of primary DC DC converter based on signal from Tsi25x series device

Product Description

Todays high availability communications and computing architectures use redundant primary battery feeds. Accessing various digitized primary side parameters from a secondary side management device provides significant system uptime advantages. Hidden fuse faults can be flagged before system downtime occurs. Card level parameters such

as primary side current and voltage levels can indicate fault trends and drive preventative maintenance activities.

The Tsi205 provides all these primary side monitoring capabilities. A PI-Link interface enables safe transmission of this data across isolation using a low-cost transformer. A CPU can then read this

information from a Tundra Tsi25x series power management device via its standard I2C interface.
