NQ CIFS Client/Server Protocol (Visuality Systems Inc)
CIFS Server/Client Enables VxWorks Connectivity to Windows File Systems
Windows native file-sharing protocol Portable POSIX/ANSI compliant Includes NetBIOS over TCP/IP protocol Small footprint suitable for embedded systems Advanced visual file management using Windows File Explorer
NQ CIFS Client/Server (a member of the NQ family) is a highly portable implementation of the Common Internet File System (CIFS), also known as Server Message Block (SMB), protocol designed for embedded and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks. NQ is standards based to provide reliable file and printer sharing in a Windows network environment consisting of embedded devices and enterprise PCs and/or UNIX workstations. NQ features improved performance, easy configuration management, and a compact footprint.
NQ provides file and printer sharing to and from embedded devices, including all MS Windows, UNIX Samba, OS/2, or other NQ-powered devices using TCP/IP protocol in network environments. Windows clients can find VxWorks CIFS-enabled devices using an icon in Network Neighborhood or in My Network Places.
NQ CIFS Client/Server is easy to integrate into VxWorks embedded projects using Wind River's acclaimed Tornado workspace component integration feature. Using the Tornado graphical interface, users can set up and install CIFS client or server components in the same way that users would add TCP/IP Berkeley Socket components to their projects.
