DSP230 was the first member of GEIP’s family of fabric based, quad 8641D processors aimed at the most demanding rugged, deployed COTS, multi-processing applications such as RADAR, image and sensor processing. Our dual fabric architecture offers the highest possible data throughput of any embedded COTS platform by using the latest merchant silicon switches from mainstream PC / server and communications infrastructure markets for both Serial RapidIO (sRIO) and PCIe.
DSP230 boasts four MPC8641D processor nodes. MPC8641D is an integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) with one or two e600 PowerPC AltiVec™ cores within an integrated platform incorporating dual memory controllers, internal cross bar switch to sRIO and PCIe, multiple Ethernet, serial ports, an I2CBus and GPIO (see block diagram below).
