Model 4294 Quad PowerPC Processor VME Board (147)
Targets embedded applications that require high-performance interfaces
Product Highlights
Four Motorola MPC7410 processors Floating-point AltiVec vector processing engine 400/500 MHz clock speed Four 2 MB L2 cache memories Four 32 MB or 128 MB SDRAMs Two high-performance VIM mezzanine sites Triple 64-bit PCI bus VME64 master/slave interface Optional 267 MB/sec RACE++ interface
Product Description
The Model 4294 Quad G4 Power PC VME Board supports numerous high-speed interfaces, including VIM, RACE++, VME64 and Ethernet.
Four identical processor nodes contain interface and memory resources ideally matching the I/O capabilities of the MPC7410. Each of the four nodes includes local memory and access to shared global resources and interfaces.
Each processor is equipped with its own VIM I/O connector, providing private, high-speed synchronous, bidirectional FIFO, which buffers 32-bit parallel data transfers between the mezzanine module and the MPC7410. The VIM architecture allows simultaneous I/O data transfers to all four processors with no contention for shared resources.
The Model 4294 includes a PCI bridge and SDRAM memory controller that also includes a powerful DMA engine useful for moving data between resources on the board.
Wind River's VxWorks BSP provides developers with a complete library of hardware initialization, control, and application functions. Used in conjunction with Wind River's Tornado II software development environment, it speeds application development. MPI Software Technology';s VSI/Pro, an implementation of VSIPL scientific and engineering functions optimized for the PowerPC, and Pentek ReadyFlow board support libraries are also available for the Model 4294.
