Wind River Expands Support for Freescale’s PowerQUICCâ„¢ Processors

(NASDAQ: WIND), the global leader in device software optimization (DSO), today announced expanded support for Freescale Semiconductor’s PowerQUICC processors through its Wind River Workbench and visionCLICK products. Through Wind River’s long-standing partnership with Freescale, customers have the complementary processors, development tools and Platforms they need to optimize the entire product development lifecycle¾from board bring up to application development.

Wind River Workbench offers a complete integrated development environment that supports cross-platform development across multiple operating systems, including VxWorks, Linux and in-house proprietary OSes . Wind River visionCLICK is the industry’s most feature-rich and proven debugger. When used in conjunction with Freescale’s PowerQUICC products, including PowerQUICC II Pro and PowerQUICC III processors, customers have a robust foundation for their device software strategy, enabling them to get products to market faster.

Additional Wind River Support

  • Expanded MPC74XX PowerPC processors for Linux
  • PowerQUICC II Pro processors — Wind River is working closely with Freescale during early design stages and plans tools support available at time of this silicon release. Wind River is also planning an MPC83XX PowerQUICC II Pro development board
  • Wind River’s IPSec software supports hardware crypto offload for the following Freescale processors:
