Eurocopter helicopters fly in 133 countries and serve approximately 2,350 customers. With 45% of the worldwide market for new civil and military helicopters and 53% of the civil market, Eurocopter is incontestably the world's leading helicopter manufacturer. The Super Puma EC 225 and the Cougar EC 725 represent Eurocopter’s next generation of transport helicopters, featuring the latest technological advances for critical civil and military tasks that include offshore operations, troop and VIP transport, medevac operations and naval missions.

The new helicopters are equipped with an Advanced Helicopter Cockpit and Avionics System, which run all of the Super Puma EC 225 and Cougar EC 725 equipment. Everything that can be measured and displayed--from critical flight mission data to radar images-- is handled by the new flight display system, making the reliability of the device software critical to pilot and mission safety. Eurocopter began work on these groundbreaking flight display systems in 1999. The systems will achieve complete DO-178B Level A certification in the summer of 2004.
