Wind River Supports Intel® Atom™ Processor E3800 Product Family Designed for the Internet of Things

Wind River®  expands its hardware architecture support to include the new Intel® Atom™ processor E3800 product family (formerly codenamed “Bay Trail-I”) to its embedded portfolio, including Wind River LinuxVxWorks®Wind River Open Virtualization Profile and Wind River Simics®. A sub-10-watt system-on-chip (SoC), the processor family is designed for the performance and power needs of intelligent systems. This product family is the first Intel Atom processor to offer error correcting code (ECC), which delivers a high level of data integrity, reliability, and system uptime—making it ideal for intelligent systems that must run continuously, such as factory equipment. Combined with Wind River technologies, this processor family helps teams deliver on a wide range of commercial and industrial designs that are ready to address the needs of the Internet of Things.
