Detroit, Mich.--October 18, 2004--Tilcon Software and Wind River (NASDAQ: WIND), the global leader in device software optimization (DSO), today announced that the companies will feature the Tilcon Interface development Suite (IDS) running on the Wind River Platform at Convergence 2004. Through this integrated solution, automotive suppliers can develop and run next generation car-infotainment systems better, faster at a lower cost and more reliably. “As in-car infotainment becomes more prevalent and feature-rich, Tier 1 OEMs are increasingly reliant on sophisticated graphics tools to help them build, reconfigure and deploy systems that are visually appealing and easy to use,” said Prosanto Sarkar, Director of Marketing at Tilcon. “We are looking forward to showcasing our IDS on Wind River’s Platform technology, further enhancing our technology and marketing partnership.” During Convergence, Tilcon and Wind River (Booth #1401) will feature demonstrations on hardware platforms from industry leaders Freescale Semiconductor and Renesas Technology. The demos will showcase how developers can build a tightly integrated technical solution to jump-start their projects and focus on their unique device applications. In addition, both companies are members of the Community Enabling Telematics (COMET™) alliance and will present during the COMET conference, co-located with Convergence. Attendees at the talk will learn about the alliance and how its members are working to accelerate the proliferation of telematics and car infotainment system products. “Wind River provides automotive suppliers with an integrated, reliable software foundation, allowing them to focus on product differentiation, reliability and usability,” said Joerg Bertholdt, director of marketing, platforms for Wind River: By integrating Tilcon’s unique graphics model with our Platform, our customers have the technology they need to drive innovation while reducing development risk for new car infotainment devices.” |
