Wind River showcased these developments at Avionics Europe. Our avionics specialists demonstrated both Wind River VxWorks DO-178B Platform and Wind River VxWorks 653 Platform on a variety of COTS hardware systems including boards from Curtiss-Wright, GE Intelligent Platforms, MEN, and Aitech.

	Wind River Expands Hardware Support for VxWorks 653 Platform for Integrated Modular Avionics Systems: The new release of Wind River VxWorks 653 Platform builds on the existing support for the Freescale e600 Power Architecture, with new board support packages (BSPs) for the Curtiss-Wright VPX6-185 and the Wind River SBC8641D boards, and extends hardware support to Intel 32-bit processor architectures, including a BSP for the GE Intelligent Platforms V7768 board. Additionally, VxWorks 653 Platform now provides a new power fail-safe DO-178B file system.
	Wind River Partner Validation Program Expanded to Aerospace and Defense: Initial aerospace and defense partners in Wind River's partner program include AdaCore, aicas, ALT Software, Atego, Esterel Technologies, Presagis, and PrismTech. Program partners will provide software solutions specifically developed for avionics, secure military communications, unmanned systems, and complex control systems. They will be integrated and validated with the latest releases of Wind River's industry-leading operating systems.

Wind River and Cavium Networks Collaborate to Offer Multicore Software Solutions on OCTEON Processors
Wind River and Cavium announced a multiyear strategic partnership to co-market optimized VxWorks and Wind River Linux multicore solutions to networking and telecommunications customers worldwide. The companies will align long-term product roadmaps, and Wind River will commercially support Cavium's OCTEON family of multicore processors through OCTEON II and a subsequent processor family with board support packages across Wind River's comprehensive software portfolio.

Wind River and Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing announced the immediate availability of Wind River VxWorks DO-178B Platform, designed to meet the stringent safety certification requirements of the aerospace and defense industry.

Wind River VxWorks 653 Platform Powers the Foundation of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner's Common Core System
GE developed the common core system for the Boeing 787 based on the Wind River VxWorks 653 partitioned operating environment. The common core system is the backbone of the Boeing 787's computers, networks, and interfacing electronics and provides the primary computing environment for the Dreamliner.
