Wind River Drives Open Source Platform for Automotive Infotainment

Auto manufacturers and their tier suppliers are moving from long hardware-centric design cycles toward a rapid software-based model similar to consumer electronics. Wind River is driving a new open source standard for automotive infotainment middleware that eases software development and integration. Wind River is also offering a commercial product—Wind River Linux Platform for Infotainment—that will tightly integrate the infotainment middleware with Wind River's commercial Linux distribution to deliver a complete platform with development tools, predictable delivery cycles, support, and license assurance.
