Cavium provides integrated semiconductor processors for use in networking equipment such as routers, switches, security appliances, gateway devices, and storage networking equipment. The company designs specialized microprocessors used in secure network transmissions based on ARM and MIPS architecture technologies. Manufacturing is contracted out to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and United Microelectronics, among others. Cavium also provides related software and services.
